A person working as a mechanic is a skilled craftsmen commissioned to provide expert services such as repairs, maintenance and diagnostic efforts in regards to machinery. The vast majority of these individuals work on standard automobiles, however, there are numerous other areas of specialisation including industrial machinery, aircraft engines, military equipment, diesel motors/HGV and numerous others. The post requires excellent hand-eye coordination and analytical thinking skills as well as proper training and a reasonable level of physical fitness; strength and flexibility are necessary for some common tasks in this hands-on role. Certification and training are typically achieved via technical colleges or even vocational school (in the case of automobile, HGV/diesel and industrial specialists).

A mechanic qualification, at least 2 years experience in this branch and English at an Advanced level. Here are some skills that would make a mechanic a very good employee:
